This workshop prepares Brazilian professional before going abroad, to deal with the transition period, with the intercultural and adaptation challenges. Knowing a foreign language is just the beginning of a long process to become prepared to deal with personal and professional experience abroad. In addition, as part of the process, we face the need to develop specific intercultural competences (knowledge, skills, awareness and attitude). Our discussion is based on the recent cross-cultural theories and practices.

• Expatriates living in Brazil

 This workshop helps expatriates living in Brazil to understand the historical and cultural aspects behind the Brazilian way of living and working.  The method explores the participants’ actual experiences and builds on with the most recent cross-cultural theories and models which help developing their communication, and leadership skills.

• The impact of the expatriate life on children depending on their age.

The expatriate life may seem such an exotic experience, however, for the families in this situation there are many challenges in relation to the relocation, transition periods, schooling and specially doubts about the long-term impact on the family relations and on the children depending on their age. This workshop provides essential information and specific guidelines for the parents to be more prepared to overcome the challenges and benefit from the experience.
